Call: Analysis of Satellite Images
The RedLAC Impact Monitoring Working Group seeks expert institutions that can do the analysis for satellite images. This working group, comprised by eight RedLAC Funds, will apply a monitoring system using the analysis of free satellite images (Landsat) , to determine changes in the coverage of habitats and fragmentation in the areas chosen. 15th RedLAC Assembly speakers confirmed
We have now our keynote speaker, Costa Rican ex-President José María Figueres, confirmed to participate at our annual Assembly, which will take place in San Jose, Costa Rica, at the Double Tree Hilton Hotel on November 4-7, 2013. Dan Winterson from the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, Ede Ijjasz Vasquez from the World Bank, and Miguel Cifuentes from CATIE also confirmed their assitance, to present

The RFS was presented in Ecuador
On January 24th Fondo Ambiental Nacional- FAN held an encounter with the Secretariat for Climate Change of the Ministry of Environment of Ecuador, where Natalia Arango from Fondo Acción conducted a workshop to present the Rainforest Standard and invite them to discuss the relevance of this tool for the Ministry’s plans on reducing emissions from deforestation. |

Hotel Zuana bets on sea turtles care with the Program Pioneers in Conservation
The environmental initiative invites the hotel industry and its guests to be part of nature conservation activities. Hotel Zuana, in Colombia, the first Pioneer. Pioneers in conservation is a donation program by Fondo Patrimonio
Natural that links hotels and guests
interested in the conservation of flora and fauna of the natural areas
of the country. With the contributions donated by guests, Playa Lengüeta, one of the
main nesting sites of sea turtles in the Colombian Caribbean, will be
conserved. It aims to raise 300 million Colombian Pesos a year
for conservation projects.
